American Red Cross Training

The American Red Cross training offers complete, flexible programs that help you, your family and your community stay prepared for virtually any life-threatening situation.

Basic Aid Training (B.A.T.) (6 hours)
This course, which may be led by any responsible adult, introduces 8-10 year-olds to the emergency action steps, Check, Call, Care as well as to basic first aid procedures. An activity book with puzzles and games teaches children how to prevent injuries and what to do in an emergency.

Babysitter's Training
The 6 1/2 hour Babysitter's Training course gives 11 to 15 year olds the skills and confidence to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. Through hands-on activities, interactive video and lively discussions, the course teaches young people how to–

  • Care for children and infants.
  • Be good leaders and role models.
  • Make good decisions and solve problems.
  • Keep the children they babysit and themselves safe.
  • Handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents.
  • Write resumes and interview for jobs.
